How this estimate works

This tool uses Google's satellite-imagery Solar API to measure the roof plane(s) you tap — the same underlying data source used for solar-panel siting, repurposed here for a rough roofing takeoff. It's a starting point, not a Hover or EagleView report and not a field measurement.

Tap the main house, then tap again on any detached garage or shed so it gets measured as its own building instead of getting missed or mixed into the house's numbers. If a structure is physically attached under one roofline (an attached garage, for example), tapping it will return the same combined measurement as the house — that's a limit of the underlying imagery data, not a bug, and we'll sort it out at the site visit.

Squares and pitch show up right away. The price range is shown once you leave your contact info, because a price — even a range — should come with a way for us to follow up and make it right if the numbers need adjusting.

Frequently asked

Is this the same as a Hover or EagleView report?

No. Those come from a licensed measurement service ordered for your specific job and are what we use to key an actual scope. This tool is a satellite-based starting estimate you can get on your own, before we've been to your property.

Why does it want me to tap the roof instead of just using my address?

A single address lookup returns whichever roof is geographically closest — on a lot with a detached garage or shed, that is often the wrong building. Tapping the actual roof you want measured fixes that.

Why is the price a range, not a number?

Per-square material and labor pricing varies by tier, and satellite measurements carry their own margin of error against a physical measurement. A site visit narrows both down to a firm number.

Does this submit an insurance claim?

No. This page never files or handles a claim, and it doesn't determine how insurance work gets priced. Insurance or not, this tool is only a starting estimate — your final price is confirmed at the site visit.
